User Experience Designer
Overview
Fell Swoop, a Seattle based user experience design studio, is seeking a UX designer for an immediate contract-to-permanent position. As a UX designer at Fell Swoop, you will work closely with senior designers on client projects including web applications, e-commerce web sites, and mobile web sites and applications.
Responsibilities:
- Identify client business goals and user needs.
- Determine business requirements and feature sets.
- Collaborate in defining user experience strategies for client projects.
- Participate in conducting user research.
- Develop user personas, scenarios, and use cases.
- Create wireframes.
- Create low fidelity paper and interactive prototypes for usability studies.
- Plan and conduct usability studies to evaluate designs with real end users.
- Collaborate with visual designers and developers to ensure designs are fully realized.
- Present work in client meetings.

Requirements & Qualifications:
- A portfolio demonstrating intelligent problem solving with the ability to execute detailed wireframes or design schematics.
- A degree in a related field such as interaction design, HCI, visual design, communication design, software engineering, etc.
- At least five years experience designing e-commerce web sites and or complex web applications.
- A strong understanding of web design best practices, usability heuristics, and technical capabilities and limitations.
- Ability to work quickly in a fast paced client services driven environment.
- You must be a motivated self-starter and able to efficiently manage your time.
- Advanced knowledge of Visio, OmniGraffle, InDesign or equivalent tools for creating wireframes and design comps.
- Strong verbal and written communications skills.
- Understanding of basic visual design principals and practices.
- Plus: Experience designing mobile websites and applications.
- Plus: Ability to develop functional prototypes in HTML/CSS, Flash, or Axure.
- Plus: Experience working at a client services firm is preferred.
- Plus: Experience designing for mobile and/or touch-screen devices.
