Griot’s Garage has built a reputation for providing some of the best car care products in the world, but their original website lacked the same level of sophistication. Plus, the site wasn’t mobile-friendly. With the exponential growth of mobile-first shopping, it’s imperative that retail brands provide a optimized mobile experience for their customers.
Before redesigning the site we made sure the brand positioning was firing on all cylinders. We spoke to customers and employees to get a balanced view from an internal and external perspective. We also updated their brand story and product architecture to better fit with the direction of the business.
Tuning for performance
With the refined positioning as our foundation, we were ready to take on the redesign of their ecommerce site. The project was jumpstarted by a Clarity Lab—our rapid ideation workshop—which quickly established the most promising approaches and helped define the broad strokes of the new site features. A quick mood board excercise helped establish the right degree of brand evolution for the visual design.
Building on this foundation, we improved the site experience across all screen sizes—with a site that delivers on the Griot’s brand throughout—while guiding customers quickly to the right products with inline education—and optimizing conversion at every turn.
