Simplifying the experience of shopping for mobile service
Virgin Mobile approached Fell Swoop with an exciting challenge: launch a premium lifestyle brand masquerading as a wireless carrier. Their vision was an iPhone-only mobile plan with a simple value proposition: the latest devices, unlimited service, Virgin-exclusive member perks, no complications.
The goal from the outset was to position this as an entirely new branded offering, setting it apart from the image of Virgin Mobile’s existing wireless business.
Minimalist design for a maximized experience
We began the process with a Clarity Lab Workshop to envision ways to simplify the phone and plan purchase experience from browsing through to delivery.
We drew from Virgin’s stylish brand palette to craft a look & feel that offered a premium experience for the shopper. The browse-and-buy flow is free of clutter, clearly offering the right balance of marketing, information, and brand essence.
Extending the customer experience
We also extended the up-front shopping and purchase experience through to the customer self-service account management portal. This aspect of the site is a critical part of delivering on the promise of simplified mobile service.
